'Kadjendo' is a traditional working tool from the Diola farmers in The Gambia.
Guesthouse Kadjendo opened in 2003, and is showing the guests a part of daily Gambian life. It is located in a residential area: from the terrace on the roof you see the customers of the local shop, the tailor behind his sewing machine, the neighbours sitting on a bench to chat. When you go out maybe they 'll invite you for their tea ceremony...
Kadjendo is a small family guesthouse, with about 15 rooms available, and an extra apartment for the managers. There is a restaurant and kitchen downstairs, sanitary facilities at each floor, and a huge terrace on the roof. It was built by Lamin Badjie, Gambian, and Els Salembier, Belgian. They are now living in Belgium, and therefore want to sell the building.
